Places to Visit
- Plaza de Armas and its beautiful Cathedral of Cusco.
- The Plaza de Armas is the heart of Cusco. Founded by Manco Capac. With the name “Huacaypata” and from there departed the roads to the four regions of Tahuantinsuyo. The cathedral is located in the northeast sector of the current Plaza de Armas of Cusco. In the place that was the Suntur Wasi, Palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The complex occupies an area of 3956 mt2. It is the most important religious monument of the Historical Center of Cusco.
- The stone of twelve angles.
- The stone of the 12 angles is one of the symbols of the city of Cusco. Located in the street Hatun Rumiyoc (in Quechua: big stone) and belongs to the building where currently sits the Archbishop's Palace and the Museum of Religious Art of Cusco.
- The neighborhood of artisans and bohemians “San Blas”.
- Also known as “Barrio de los Artesanos” because it is the place where many artisans of Cusco live and work. It is a place that has to be visited on your trip to Cusco; besides many places in San Blas will allow you to take beautiful views of Cusco.
- The temple of Koricancha or Qoricancha.
- It is a Quechua word that means “Temple of Gold” however, according to some research, its real name would be “Inti Kancha” which means 'Temple of the Sun'. Both names refer to the majestic gold decoration that was inside.
- Traditional Market of San Pedro.
- The central market of Cusco or San Pedro market was built in 1925 and is the oldest in the city. The construction was directed by Gustav Eiffel, the same who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
