This is a five days and four nights trek, which we offer and is perfect for adventure lovers, we travel through changing ecosystems from one day to another, but not for that reason it is still of a unique beauty!

It is one of the alternative paths that leads you to the wonder of the world “Machu Picchu immortal”, which begins by the route of the famous Humantay Lake, at the foot of the Apu Salkantay (wild mountain), from where we begin our hike to Machu Picchu, bordering the mountain with the incredible view of glaciers, the impressive Salkantay lagoon, crossing snowy mountains to a tropical jungle of beautiful forests.

  • Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Salkantaypampa
  • Pick up from Cusco is at 5:00 am from your hotel and then a bus ride to Mollepata District, for 2:00 hours approximately, where we will have breakfast. Then we will hike around 4:00 hours to Wayracpampa, where we can have lunch with a panoramic view of the beautiful snow-capped mountains of Humantay, this is just the beginning of a great adventure. Then we start our trip to Salkantaypampa, where our first campsite will be, the highest and coldest campsite of the trip.

  • Distance: 15 km / 9.03 millas
  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 2: Apu Protector Salkantay
  • We wake up at 5:00 am for breakfast. Then we start our hike to the highest pass, located halfway between 2 huge mountains, Salkantay on the right and Tucarhuay on the left. From the beginning of the hike the view of the 2 snow-capped mountains is incredible. After a rest and contemplation of the great panorama, we continue our hike (downhill) through a spectacular cloud forest to Huayracpunku, where we will have lunch. After lunch we hike again for approximately 3:00 hours into the jungle until we reach our second campsite.

  • Distance: 13 km / 8.06 millas
  • Highest point: Abra Salkantay (4650 m / 15200 ft.)
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 3: Cloud Forest
  • Very early at 6:30 am we start walking through the jungle, crossing the Lluscamayo. On this day we will pass through valleys and have wonderful views of waterfalls, tropical fruits and plants. We will also camp in a warm climate at Sahuayacu beach.
  • Camp: Playa Sahuayacu (2500 m / 8202 ft).
  • Distance: 12 km / 7.44 millas
  • Highest point: Colpapampa 3000 m / 9800 ft.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 4: Llactapata - Puente Ruinas - Aguas Calientes
  • This is going to be a great day, where we will be able to see the marvel Machu Picchu! For this we must start at 6:30 am and then head to Llactapata, a steady climb of 3:00 hours. Llactapata is an incredible Inca fort from which we will see Machu Picchu! After taking some pictures, we continue walking for about 2:00 hours, crossing plantations of coca, banana, etc., until we reach the hydroelectric station. Approximately at 13:00 pm, we will taste our lunch at the station, where we say goodbye to all the staff who helped us during this journey, and continue with the hike to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night at the hotel.

  • Day 5: Secrets of Machu Picchu
  • The great day arrived, where we can delight, its imposing beauty of one of the wonders of the world, for this we have breakfast at 5:00 am and then make a short bus ride, approximately at 5:30 am we are in Machu Picchu, to appreciate the magnificent city during sunrise. Your guide gives you a walking tour, approximately 2:00 hours, in which he gives you information about this wonder. Then you will have enough time to enjoy the citadel on your own. After the tour of the citadel, you will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes, where you can arrive on foot or by bus, then have lunch and receive your return train tickets to Cusco. The train usually leaves at 2:55 pm and we arrive in Ollantaytambo at 4:40 pm, then we take the bus to Cusco and we will arrive at 7:00 or 8:00 pm leaving you at your respective hotel.
