This tour to the Agricultural Experimental Center of Moray and the salt mines of Maras, proposes to enjoy and observe different traditional communities surrounded by beautiful landscapes, which are dyed in spring of intense green color.

Places to Visit

Andenes or Agricultural Experimentation Center of Moray.
Moray, surrounded by the imposing Andes Mountains, is one of the famous Inca ruins near Cusco, composed of three groups of circular terraces that descend 150 meters from the highest terrace to the lowest. Each has 12 levels of terraces.
Salt mines of Maras.
The salt mines are approximately 3000 wells, fed by a subway spring. It is located at 3380 meters, 56.8 km from the city of Cusco, in the Sacred Valley. According to legend, the salt is formed from the tears of Ayar Cachi (one of the brothers of Ayar Manco Ayar founder of Cusco), who dies in tears because he could not found the Tahuantinsuyo. The tears were dried by the sun, forming salt flats with pink and lilac tones.

1° Activity: Inicio.
To begin our tour, our staff will pick you up from your hotel.
2° Activity: Chincheros.
Leaving Cusco, we go to Chinchero, where you can visit one of its textile production centers, to observe their beautiful fabrics and learn about their ancestral techniques of dyeing and processing. Then go to the viewpoint, to observe and have a panoramic view, the impressive archaeological center of Tupac Yupanqui.
3° Activity: Andenes de Moray.
Then we go to the incredible Andenes de Moray or experimental agricultural center of Tahuantinsuyo. After this visit, we pass through the picturesque colonial town of Maras and its beautiful square.
4° Activity: Salineras de Maras.
Finally we visit the salt mines of Maras, which are born in the mysterious springs of the Sacred Valley and have multiple health benefits. Then return to Cusco.
