The Inca Trail: One of the most extraordinary routes in the world, to the golden city, Machu Picchu. Considered one of the most beautiful treks in the world by Lonely Planet.

This legendary route of 33 km, was traced by the Incas, in this program is traveled, with a duration of four days / three nights and approximately 8 hours of walking daily.

You will get to know the attractions of the route, passing through snow-capped peaks and forests among the clouds. You will experience the magic of walking through different natural and cultural attractions on top of cliffs, which makes it the most famous and exciting hike in South America.

This amazing trekking tour is the most spectacular way to have the first view of the Wonder of the Modern World, just as the Incas did almost 600 years ago.

  • Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 (Piscacucho) - Wayllabamba.
  • Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel, and then head to Piscacucho, at kilometer 82 (2,800 m / 9,186 ft).
  • On the way we pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the city of Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. At km. 82 we will have the opportunity to meet the team that will accompany us during our trek, such as porters, carperos, cooks, etc. and we begin with the walk along the banks of the Urubamba River.
  • This first section of the Inca trail is quite easy, we will have a beautiful view of the Veronica snow-capped mountain, until we reach the archaeological group of Patallacta (2,750 m / 9,022 ft), an Inca construction. Here we will have lunch to regain strength and then continue until we reach Huayllabamba, where we will make our first camp.
  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 2: Wayllabamba - Warmihuañusca - Pacaymayo.
  • After a refreshing breakfast, we begin our second day of trekking, we will have a great challenge, that of ascending to the highest point of the Inka Trail and we will have the opportunity to appreciate how the vegetation changes, however, this place is one of the most beautiful, the Warmihuañusca pass, Quechua name meaning “When the woman dies” (4,200 m / 13,779 ft).
  • We will be rewarded by a beautiful view of the snow-capped and Andean landscapes and enjoy a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains surrounding the pass.
  • Then we descend through a winding valley of great vegetation, until we reach a point where we will have lunch.
  • Then we continue hiking until we reach the Pacaymayu River Valley (3,600 m / 11,811 ft), where we will have our second camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 3: Pacaymayo - Phuyupatamarca - Wiñaywayna.
  • After our energetic breakfast, we will ascend a steep trail. Until we reach the archaeological group of Runqurakay 3,800 m / 12,467 ft. From this point the road is cobblestone and we can observe the quality of Inca engineering.
  • We visit Sayacmarca (3,600 m / 11,811 ft), beautiful architectural complex. Then, we will continue uphill until we reach the first tunnel and we will continue climbing until we reach the archaeological group of Phuyupatamarca, from where the descent begins by an extremely attractive road, with dense vegetation of the jungle brow, very rich in flora and fauna.
  • Then we arrive at the Wiñayhuayna Archaeological Group, where we will set up our third and last camp.
  • This is the last night, we will say goodbye to our porters or staff of the excursion, therefore, at night there will be a small party to thank everyone for having shared with the group this beautiful experience.

  • Day 4: Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu (2,490 m) - Cusco.
  • On this last day, we have a very early breakfast, to continue the hike until we reach Intipunku or Sun Gate (2,490 m / 8,169 ft).
  • If the traveler has started the hike very early, he will arrive just for sunrise and will have an excellent opportunity to see the spectacular sunrise in the lost city of the Inkas “Machu Picchu Enigmatic”.
  • Then we will descend to tour the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour by our guide for approximately 2 hours, then you will be able to explore the mysterious city at your own pace and enjoy this wonder of the world. Independently you can visit Huayna Picchu.
  • Finally we go down to Aguas Calientes by bus. You will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes, optional visit to the town's hot springs.
  • In the afternoon, return train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco. We will be in Cusco at approximately 22:30pm.
  • Meals: Breakfast.
